Descrption:
Njegoševa street is the capital street in the town. Its promenade is the most significant part of the town’s core. Multiple international authors that visited Montenegro were impressed with this street conception and beauty. It seems like the entire bohemian and artistic charm of Nikšić is located in its most significant part that represents its promenade path from Onogošt hotel to Old Post Office building.
Vitomir Nikolić, who often wrote about roads, mentioned this long street on literal meetings in Nikšić. It is interesting to note that the name of the old poetry book by the bohemian Tin Ujević, published in Nikšić in 1932, mentiones the word korzo (promenade).
The custom of neverending walks along the town’s center survives as town’s tradition.
