Primary School Olga Golović

A plan for “Olga Golović” gymnasium – primary school is the first independent and put up building by the architect Đorđije Minjević. Before this he had participated in the works on hotel Onogošt.

The plan wins in a Yugoslav competition for a new school in 1955. At first, it had been envisaged as a gymnasium. It was later adjusted to be a primary school. Minjević’s work was recognized by his colleagues in Zagreb. Thus, then still unrealized plan was published as a contemporary work alongside schools in Zagreb, Belgrade and Ljubljana, in a publication “Schools” in Zagreb in 1956. Year later, the school was built.
