Central kindergarten
Unlike a lot of his other works, Slobodan Vukajlović’s kindergarten was not done in hexagonal web. However, certain features were applied. Central kindergarten, built in 1971, has a circular basis with eight rooms for children all of which were also made in circular bases and located around the central atrium. Thus, segments of space which are formed thanks to its shape encourage imagination and the perception of space from different angles.
This work earned Slobodan Vukajlović “Borba” award, the most significant recognition in the field of architecture in the republic.
